Schedule your backups

If you’re still backing up manually then it’s worth setting time aside to schedule your backups this World Backup Day. You can backup your files and databases to run separately if you wish, every 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours, daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

If you have UpdraftPlus Premium you can schedule for a specific time of the day e.g. during periods of low traffic, to save server resources and boost performance when it matters most.

Create backup reports

Tell UpdraftPlus to send backup reports this World Backup Day, so you can be confident that your backups are working as they should.

In Free UpdraftPlus, reports are emailed to the site administrator to say whether the backup has succeeded or failed. To turn this on go to the ‘Settings’ tab, then ‘Email’

If you’re an UpdraftPlus Premium customer, your reports are enriched with additional information and come with more options of where to send these to. Go to the ‘Settings’ tab then ‘Send reports’ to turn them on.

Check where your backups are stored

Knowing where your backups are stored and being confident you can access them is just as important as remembering to back up in the first place.

If you’re still backing up to your server, we recommend changing this now (as explained in ‘Where are my backups stored?’)

UpdraftPlus gives you tons of alternative and remote storage locations to choose from, or for ease (not to mention reliability, scalability and redundancy) backup to UpdraftVault instead.

It’s integrated into UpdraftPlus which saves you the bother of choosing another remote storage location, figuring out how it works and then dealing with setups and accounting bother.

1GB is included with every purchase of UpdraftPlus Premium.
